Voices of '68

The following are works created as part of my senior capstone project working with the DC Public Library Foundation. During the project, the class planned a campaign to further the DC Public Library Foundation's campaign People's University on the American University campus. (The People's University is a campaign to remember the 50th anniversary of the events in DC in 1968, including, the Poor People's march, the DC Riots, and Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination.) The campaign included a week of events (a teach-in, panel discussion on race relations, fundraising happy hour, jazz night, etc.) on and off campus. Additionally, included are graphics I created for the final client presentation.

Rock Creek Conservancy- Party By the Park Promo

During my Community Based Learning course, Visual Literacy, my class worked with the Rock Creek Conservancy to aid in its media needs. I worked with Anh Do to produce a promotional video for the Conservancy's annual funding gala, Party By The Park. In producing the promo, we took still and video during the gala, which took place at House of Sweden in Washington, DC. We film using an iPhone and edited the video using Final Cut Pro.

Sprouting Totowa- Website Design

I have never had a green thumb and did not know much about gardening, but when I heard that my local community garden could use some help online, I volunteered. I worked to improve user experience, making the site easier to navigate, and ensured visitors would see the call to action right away,.

Say 80Thing- Website Design

Looking to broaden its digital presence, the 80s cover band Say 80Thing approached me about building them a website. I prepared a pitch including potential designs, time frame, and budget. Taking feedback along the way, I built Say 80Thing's website with two audiences in mind, fans and talent bookers. Fans can easily find upcoming shows and subscribe to the band's mailing list. Talent bookers can get a sense of the band and see what venues the band has previously played.
